Had Rex died? The answer was, of course, no. Who was Rex? He was the protagonist, complete with a protagonist halo, an idiot halo, and a party-wipe halo. He was the protagonist of protagonists. If he had died, this chapter would have been the finale.

Rex's vision went black. When he opened his eyes again, he was back in his bedroom, lying on his soft bed with a bearskin blanket beneath his head.

His sharp gaze swept around the room. Shifting his body, Rex raised an arm and gently rubbed his forehead with his fingers as he checked his condition. He had died inside the Warcraft System, but he had not died in the real world. That was something to be grateful for.

Thinking back carefully, he remembered that the Ghost Wolf had pounced on him and bitten through his neck. The fatal wound, combined with the poison, had killed him instantly. The scene of the Ghost Wolf lunging at him and biting him to death surfaced in his mind, gruesome in the extreme. Yet Rex's expression remained unchanged as he recalled it. Only his brows furrowed slightly, and he murmured in a low voice, "Far Seer!"

That bloody scene could not shake Rex, who had been tempered on the battlefield. He had witnessed scenes far bloodier and more horrific than that.

Only after carefully checking his condition and finding nothing wrong with either his body or the Holy Light within him did Rex inwardly breathe a sigh of relief. After dying in the Warcraft System's world, he had feared that it might affect him in reality, leaving him missing
