"My most revered master, your most loyal servant, Kel'Thuzad, greets you," Kel'Thuzad said reverently. At that moment, this Archmage of Azeroth, a Hero Rank powerhouse, prostrated himself devoutly on the ground. His head touched the earth, and his lips pressed against the dirt. Anyone who saw him like this would never have believed that the kneeling man was an Archmage.

His abject posture showed none of an Archmage's dignity. His low invocation echoed quietly through the cavernous underground chamber.

Time ticked by, and nothing around him changed.

"Kel'Thuzad, did you call me?" A voice appeared out of nowhere, sounding without warning within the cavern. The voice of Ner'zhul, the Lich King, was aged and drawn out. Strangely, however, it sounded inside Kel'Thuzad's mind, without causing the slightest disturbance in the cave. The empty, silent chamber remained as dark as ever, cold and still.

"Great master, your servant has conducted a thorough investigation into the candidates for commander you specified. Two now meet your criteria," Kel'Thuzad said with utmost respect. In his pursuit of power, he had committed himself entirely to a path of no return, stopping at nothing to obtain it. The Lich King's immense strength had won him over completely. He faithfully carried out every order Ner'zhul gave him, never disobeying.

Kel'Thuzad had been reduced to Ner'zhul's dog, stripped of every last shred of his dignity as an Archmage. Yet this did not mean he was unwaveringly loyal to the Lich King. He obeyed Ner'zhul because of his strength. As long as the Lich King remained powerful, Kel'Thuzad would be a rabid dog, biting wherever his master pointed. But if the Lich King's strength faltered, Kel'Thuzad would surely be the first to turn on him.
