Rex walked slowly out of the palace, having successfully shifted King Genn's attention to Meryl Winterwind. The Eastern and Western Plaguelands, two of Lordaeron's richest regions, were now on the verge of becoming wastelands. That was a loss for all of Gilneas. After this visit to the palace, Rex felt more exhausted than he would have after a battle with Medivh.

"Orys, have those lords all settled down?" Rex asked the honest-looking man beside him as they walked.

"They have. Several of the loudest troublemakers left yesterday. Even those who stayed have been keeping quietly to their residences," Orys replied.

"Very good." Rex nodded, gazing ahead with a deep, unreadable look. After one final glance at Orys, he mounted his horse and rode off in a cloud of dust.
