The wind kept sweeping through Lordaeron City, doing nothing to hold back the scorching summer heat.

The Archmage had returned, bringing news that lifted Rex's spirits: Netherwing had been captured.

The moment Rex received the news, he disregarded his injuries and met with the Archmage. The Archmage looked exhausted, the bloodshot veins in his eyes impossible to hide. Capturing Netherwing had drained him both physically and mentally. After chatting with the Archmage for a while, Rex could hardly wait to see Netherwing.

Rex fell deeply in love with Netherwing at first sight.

Netherwing stood a head taller than ordinary netherwings. Though bound, the creature's proud bearing was unmistakable. What drew Rex's attention most was the lack of wings. Netherwing's outline was rather hazy, shimmering with the same blue light as other netherwings, but the body was entirely that of a warhorse.

But Rex did not believe Netherwing was merely a warhorse. The Archmage could not have made a mistake about that. The most likely explanation was that Netherwing could freely control those wings, spreading them when needed and retracting them when not. That had to be the truth. Rex was delighted by this discovery. A netherwing with its wings constantly extended was fine in flight, but those wings looked somewhat out of place when it ran on the ground. They hampered its galloping speed, making it far slower than when it flew.

Satisfied with Netherwing's appearance, Rex eagerly approached. As he drew close, Netherwing began struggling and roaring at him. The repeated cries made the creature's pride and hostility abundantly clear, but Rex ignored them outright. Netherwing was bound with ropes and magically restrained, unable to move at all. Fierce as those cries were, they accomplished nothing.

With a leap, Rex landed squarely on Netherwing's back and carefully took out
