The weather was clear, the azure sky like an ocean. Inside the Great Cathedral of Lordaeron, golden radiance filled every corner as an elderly man waved his staff, pouring out streams of golden holy light.
Dense holy light enveloped Rex. He carefully felt the wounds that had split open begin to heal slowly under its restorative power.
The healing was too slow to see with the naked eye. Only by paying close attention could Rex sense it.
Time slipped by. After a long while, the dense holy light surrounding him gradually thinned until it vanished entirely, and an aged voice sounded beside his ear.
"Your Highness, today's treatment is complete." It was not the Archbishop's voice, but it undoubtedly belonged to an elderly priest.
Rex opened his eyes, stood, and moved his arms. Clenching his right fist, he felt the holy light contained within his body. Its surging power seemed ready to burst forth, but a faint stabbing pain still arose. Rex abandoned his attempt to draw on it and let the holy light settle. Only then did the pain ease, disappearing without a trace a few seconds later.
I still can't use the holy light, Rex thought.
Another half month had passed. Although Rex's injuries had improved considerably and he had returned to normal, looking no different from anyone else, that was only as long as he did not use the holy light. The moment he drew on it, he aggravated his injuries. Still, those two weeks had not been fruitless.
