"This way, Your Majesty Varian. Your accommodations are ready," Vincent said with a smile, standing before Varian. As he studied the handsome king, he inwardly admired his composure and knew that he was an outstanding ruler.

"When exactly does the Alliance conference begin?" Varian asked slowly, his gaze wandering as he surveyed his surroundings and the endless stream of people in the streets, one hand holding his mount's reins.

"Tomorrow at noon," Vincent answered from beside him.

"It seems I'm the last to arrive," Varian said heartily. After a pause, he continued, "I heard that Mr. Rhonin is representing Dalaran this time?"

"Yes."

"His succession ceremony had to be postponed because of this Alliance conference," Vincent explained.

Archimonde's arrival had shocked the entire world. With Medivh constantly spreading alarming proclamations about the end of the world, how could Antonidas possibly have been in the mood to hold a grand succession ceremony? He could only rush through the formalities and leave the rest until after they had weathered this crisis.

The group rode onward and soon reached a luxurious mansion. Once Vincent had settled Varian in, he promptly took his leave.

Standing inside the mansion, Varian wore an exhaustion on his handsome face that he could barely conceal. Days of travel had worn him out. Travel by portal was not a privilege just anyone could enjoy; it required a hero-level mage. The Kingdom of Stormwind was powerful, but it had no such mage. As for geniuses like Jaina, who could cast portal spells at only the ninth rank, they were exceedingly rare. Who knew how many years it took for even one to appear?
