War had finally come. Expressionless, Rex watched the Alliance soldiers streaming out of the portal.

Hundreds of thousands of troops could not be deployed in a short time. The army poured through the purple vortex in an endless stream, a dark sea of heads crossing from the Eastern Kingdoms to Kalimdor.

"Your Highness," Darius called softly as he walked up beside Rex.

Rex shifted his gaze from the Alliance soldiers and glanced at the fully armed Darius beside him. "Does His Majesty have any orders?"

"No." Darius shook his head gently, indicating that there were none.

Silence settled between them. Neither Rex nor Darius spoke again; their thoughts were elsewhere. The Burning Legion had begun its offensive, an event that would shake the world. None of those who had just attended the strategy meeting could remain calm.

To be honest, Rex did not entirely agree with the Night Elves' proposal to build three defensive lines. He favored concentrating all their strength and holding a single position, dispensing with any buffer and plunging straight into a battle to the death. With nowhere to retreat, their determination would bring out a surge of fighting strength. That was the logic behind burning one's bridges.

But circumstances did not permit it. Rex knew that the Night Elves' plan for three defensive lines was the most suitable. The Horde, the Alliance, and the Night Elves were the three major powers in their current coalition. The Night Elves were the weakest, but they had the advantage of terrain. This was their home ground, which gave them enough weight to count as a major power.
