Every scene, every object gleamed from afar!

Only after a long while did Rex put away his Crystal Ball. The undead army had vanished.

He gently patted the Netherwing King beneath him, a satisfied look on his face. No trace of the undead army could be found near Mount Hyjal anymore. Only the withered grass on the ground bore witness to its passage, telling Rex that the army had been there not long ago.

"Let's head back," Rex said softly.

The Lich King had been decisive. Once he agreed to withdraw, he withdrew without any backtracking.

Rex did not believe for a moment that the Lich King was so trustworthy. This could only mean one thing: the Lich King was desperate. He could no longer wait to regain a body and escape his frozen prison.

The main reason the Lich King had remained under Kil'jaeden's threat was his inability to move freely. With a body, he could become truly independent and escape his current awkward predicament.

Awkward was exactly the word for the Lich King's situation. He might look powerful now, but he was also at his most vulnerable. Rex silently mourned the fate of Ner'zhul, the current Lich King.

On the surface, Ner'zhul's plans seemed shrewd: break away from the Burning Legion while it was too preoccupied to deal with him, merge with Arthas, and achieve a true resurrection.

But all of that was merely wishful thinking on Ner'zhul's part. His greatest problem would be easily resolved, and everything would proceed smoothly-yet he would fall, making a catastrophic mistake at the very point where no mistake could be allowed.
