Ever since the base had been upgraded into a city, Rex had visited less often.

That alone showed how little Rex liked this castle city standing in the Warcraft System World. The reason lay right before him: the empty streets had no pedestrians, no warmth, no trace of life. It was like an immortal city, untouched by mortal affairs. No, that description was not quite right. In Rex's words, it was a ghost town.

Every day was exactly the same, cold and lifeless.

He could have accepted it when it still looked like a base. That was simply what a base was. But now it had become a castle and looked more like a place people should inhabit. A dead city was hardly appealing. Without a compelling reason to come, Rex would never have entered the castle.

Most of the time, Rex stayed outside the castle, hunting monsters to improve his strength.

From the moment he entered the castle, it took Rex about a quarter of an hour-fifteen minutes-to reach the Altar of Kings.

The changes to the Altar of Kings were neither particularly great nor particularly small. They were small in that its appearance remained the same, but great in that, despite its unchanged appearance, its footprint and dimensions were different. The Altar of Kings had expanded to roughly seven or eight times its former size.

What had once been moderately sized had become a colossal structure before Rex.

There was now enough room inside the Altar of Kings for people to enter, and the way it was operated had changed as well. Rexxar could no longer simply stand before the Altar of Kings. Rex had to enter it.
