The weather in the Warcraft System world changed without warning, following no pattern at all. When Rex had headed back to the castle, the skies had still been clear. A gentle breeze had drifted through the beautiful landscape beneath the sunshine. Now, however, the world had turned dark and dreary, and wind and rain mercilessly battered the delicate flowers and grass.
A thunderclap shook heaven and earth, followed immediately by the roar of heavy rain. It poured from the sky like a celestial river bursting its banks, sending great bubbles rising from the water on the ground. Not to be outdone, the wind came howling in.
The gale kept whipping Rex's brown hair from side to side.
Rex had always been a decisive man who acted swiftly. That much was clear from how he had returned to the castle to deploy his troops immediately after observing the area around the Tavern for a while.
The dramatic change in the Warcraft System world's weather had done nothing to alter Rex's plans for this visit to the Tavern. Time was limited, and every second counted. If he could obtain another hero here, the implications would be enormous. It would give him another powerful combatant and the confidence to face the other members of the Alliance.
With Tirion, the Archmage, the Paladin, Rex, Darius, and the newly recruited hero, he would have six Heroic Powerhouses. They would be enough to secure the Kingdom of Gilneas, wiping away every trace of the instability caused by this heavy snowfall. Even if the snow had been the work of former officials of the Kingdom of Lordaeron seeking to restore their kingdom, they would abandon their plans upon seeing the forces Rex had assembled.
Such an impressive lineup would be enough to cow every scheming lowlife.
