Outside the temple, Tyrande came out to greet him.
When Rex saw Tyrande again, she was clearly in poor spirits. It was not something only she knew; anyone could see it. It was far too obvious. Worry filled her face, and the vitality she radiated was much weaker than it had been last time.
The sight made Rex pause. For Tyrande to be worn down like this, the Night Elves must have run into serious trouble.
She looked much like the father he had inherited in this world. The Kingdom of Gilneas's plight had left King Genn unable to eat or sleep properly, and his mental state was abysmal-even worse than Tyrande's. But because King Genn was a warrior, his body could still hold out. Tyrande could not do the same. Although she was far stronger than King Genn, the gap between a demigod and the ninth rank spanned the entire hero tier, amounting to several ranks in all.
Yet despite Tyrande's strength, her physical constitution alone was slightly inferior to King Genn's. Even that was only thanks to the overall physical enhancement she had gained upon reaching the hero tier. Otherwise, there would have been no comparison at all, like an adult and an infant. Now, it was more like a high school student and a middle school student. There was a gap, but it was not that large. A sufficiently tough middle school student could still beat a high school student.
"Tyrande, it's been a while. You haven't been doing very well," Rex said as he stood beside her outside the temple.
"How could I?" Tyrande smiled bitterly, a trace of vulnerability appearing on her enchanting face. Rex found that expression almost unbelievable. Tyrande was a strong woman, someone with an exceptionally forceful personality.
