Dark and damp.

A heavy moisture lingered in the air.

That was Rex's first impression after entering the cell where Neptulon the Tidehunter was imprisoned.

Although the Underground Prison was built underground, it was not as damp as most basements. In fact, it was quite dry, thanks to the magic items placed there to dispel moisture.

Clearly, however, those measures had stopped working in Neptulon the Tidehunter's cell.

Rex took particular notice of this. His eyes swept around as he asked the two Wardens beside him, "What's going on in this cell? Haven't you two tried to deal with it?"

Though Rex's tone carried no emotion, accusation, or displeasure, the two Wardens felt immense pressure when they heard it.

Rex had no need to voice his displeasure outright. That single question made his thoughts perfectly clear.

"They don't work. We've both tried. Whether we put magic items in the cell or pile up firewood and burn it in here, nothing has any effect," one of the Wardens hurriedly explained.

Rex nodded at the Warden's explanation. He could see traces of burned firewood on the cell floor, which had yet to be cleaned up completely. They confirmed that the Warden was telling the truth. Precisely because of that, Rex frowned deeply. This was not good news. The conditions in the cell gave him an unsettling suspicion: Neptulon the Tidehunter was slowly recovering.

On the surface, Rex could see no water elements around Neptulon the Tidehunter. He was incredibly frail, and Rex could finish him off with just a little more force.

Even so, Rex believed that Neptulon the Tidehunter was up to something and was slowly recovering.

He continued, "Have you two tried attacking him at intervals, forcing him to resist and expend the power he's gathered?"

"We have. Those wounds
