They had parted on bad terms. Watching Jaina storm off, Rex had no intention of changing his mind. He turned and immediately gave orders to muster a legion.

Just after Rex issued his orders and briefly explained the plan, a rebuke rang out behind him. "Rex, all you're doing is sending them to their deaths!"

At some point, Jaina, who had just left, had returned to stand behind Rex. Her tone was hostile, her words sharp.

"You intend to have these brave warriors break straight through the Ogres' main formation before they've secured their footing. That idea is simply... a mistake." Toward the end, she struggled to find a word to describe it, faltering before she finally finished.

Rex said nothing. His eyes remained fixed on the Ogre army.

He agreed with Jaina's words, but agreeing did not mean he would abandon his plan.

Without the Lesser Invulnerability Potion, he would never have done this.

The Ogre army's leader was clearly no fool. How could he fail to guard against an enemy charge while his forces were still getting settled?

Rex was certain the Ogre army had already prepared a force that was simply waiting for his side in Peace Town to make its move.

But that was exactly what Rex wanted now. He wanted a head-on clash.

As long as he could break through that force, the remaining Ogres would surely be caught off guard.

"Rex, you're such a disappointment. You've become so arrogant that you won't listen to anyone else," Jaina snapped, staring at his expressionless face.

No matter how she looked at it, no matter how Rex explained it, in Jaina's eyes, he was sending men to their deaths.

Rex glanced at Jaina but offered no further words. He simply ignored her, treating her as entirely unnecessary.
