An unbroken pounding of footsteps sounded. The patrol in the distance were no fools. How could they fail to hear such an obvious commotion? Torches in hand, they hurried over.

Rex caught sight of the approaching patrol out of the corner of his eye and immediately shouted, "Everyone, fall back! Stay well away from here! No one is to interfere!"

Rex could not count on these patrolmen at all. All three attacking members of the Infinite Dragonflight possessed Hero Rank strength.

The Arathi Tribe's warriors could not possibly intervene in a battle between Heroic Powerhouses.

To surround and kill a Heroic Powerhouse required a thousand fully armed, elite warriors, and even that assumed the Heroic Powerhouse would fight to the death rather than retreat. Both sides would suffer devastating losses. By the time the Heroic Powerhouse was killed, almost the entire army would be dead or wounded.

Right now, however, the Arathi Tribe did not have that many troops.

Even if they barely scraped together a thousand men, those men could hardly be called elite. They were nothing but a disorganized mob. Never mind killing a Heroic Powerhouse-the Heroic Powerhouse would surely slaughter them instead.

Once casualties in such a battle reached a certain point, this mob would inevitably collapse. The victor would not be them, but the Heroic Powerhouse.

Thus, in theory, a thousand men could kill a Heroic Powerhouse. In real combat, however, troops never fought with such utter disregard for death that they held on to the very last man.

An elite force of five thousand was the standard required to surround and kill
