The appearance of Naga in Zangarmarsh was no small matter. It meant that another passage connecting Outland to Azeroth existed somewhere in Outland.
This was a major development. The moment Rex heard about it, he set out, intending to find this passage between Outland and Azeroth.
Passages leading to other worlds had to be kept under control. Only then could danger be prevented. Otherwise, there was no telling when someone from another world might use one as a springboard to invade Azeroth.
The Orcs' original invasion of Azeroth was one such example. If the Kingdom of Azeroth had discovered the Dark Portal when it was first being built, it could have immediately deployed its army and attacked. Even if the Dark Portal had ultimately been completed, the Orcs would have found it difficult to cross into Azeroth and launch their invasion.

Once they had a base, the cost of driving them out and sending them back would have multiplied several times over.
Rex had no intention of making that mistake. That was why he had come straight to Zangarmarsh after hearing the news about the Naga.
As he listened to the Draenei before him recount what had happened, Rex gained a basic understanding of the situation with the Naga.
These Naga had not been in Zangarmarsh for long. They had only just appeared.
