Lordaeron City,

was as prosperous as ever.

Its broad streets teemed with people. The presence of the portals made Lordaeron City more prosperous with each passing day.

Over the years, Lordaeron City had steadily expanded. It had already undergone several expansions beyond its original boundaries, increasing its area by at least a third.

At this rate, in another five years or so, Lordaeron City would double in size.

And as industrialization began, its population would only continue to grow.

Now that he had returned to Lordaeron City, Rex had to admit that he was a man who could never sit still. After spending a few intimate days with Rona at the mansion, he threw himself back into work. As Regent of the Kingdom of Gilneas, he found a mountain of affairs waiting for him upon his return. Ever since his last illness had nearly killed him, King Genn had taken great care to cultivate his health and peace of mind. Unless absolutely necessary, he would not handle affairs of state. Now that Rex was back in the Kingdom of Gilneas, King Genn promptly began slacking off, dumping every last matter of government onto him.

As the kingdom's Regent, handling these affairs was naturally Rex's duty.

The title "Regent" said it all.

While dealing with affairs of state, Rex also began making plans for something else.

On the morning of Rex's tenth day back in Lordaeron City, the sun slowly rose in the east. The Two Moons in the sky gradually receded, and countless rays of light drove away the hazy darkness, bringing daylight to the land once more.

Rex lay in bed. In a rare departure from his routine, he had not gotten up to exercise that day. Instead, he lingered in bed, his eyes half-closed and his body motionless.
