Rex was startled when he saw that name.
He knew that anyone who could take Neptulon the Tidehunter out of the Underground Prison had to possess considerable standing and influence, as well as Heroic strength. Anyone who had not reached Heroic Difficulty simply would not have been capable of it.
But Rex had never expected the person who had taken Neptulon the Tidehunter out to be Jaina.
From the very beginning, Rex had had few suspicions about whoever had taken Neptulon the Tidehunter out.
After all, anyone who could secure Neptulon the Tidehunter's release had to be a Heroic Powerhouse, and the Alliance did not have many of those among its members.
Every one of them was known. It could hardly have been otherwise. An unfamiliar Heroic Powerhouse would never have been allowed to make any arrangements concerning Neptulon the Tidehunter; the Kingdom of Gilneas would simply have refused him.
Rex had originally imagined that the person involved this time was Antonidas, or someone else. He had not considered Jaina.
Learning that it was Jaina surprised Rex for a moment, but he quickly settled down. There was nothing particularly shocking about it being her. Although Jaina had announced a year earlier that she was no longer interested in Neptulon the Tidehunter, that had only been something she and Rex had discussed in private. Who could say what the truth was? It was not unexpected that she should suddenly take an interest in Neptulon the Tidehunter again.
After all, Jaina primarily studied water magic, which already connected her to water elementals.
Rex began analyzing the situation carefully. If it was Jaina, she would certainly never cooperate with the undead. Even if they kidnapped her family, she would not work with them. With another Heroic Powerhouse,
