The wind kept blowing.

A spear.

It was a throwing weapon.

Rex had quite a few weapons like it, all stored in his storage space.

Weapons were something Rex never lacked.

He had prepared plenty long ago, especially since he lacked ranged attacks.

Throwing weapons was a skill he had to learn, and Rex had practiced it since childhood. After all these years, however, he rarely used attacks like that anymore, particularly after becoming a Heroic.

Against a Heroic Powerhouse, a thrown weapon inflicted negligible damage and could no longer deliver a decisive blow in battle.

But he had never let his throwing skills go to waste.

Now, he put them to use once more.

The spear shot straight through the air.

A piercing whistle rang out, and a cold gleam flashed.

The Hunter had already noticed Rex's attack.

But noticing it was one thing; dodging it was another.

The Hunter immediately tried to shift his body and dodge the spear. It was still some distance away, and although it was fast, he was confident he had enough room to evade it.

But just as the Hunter tried to dodge, he suddenly felt his body stiffen.

His normally agile limbs no longer obeyed him. It was as though a heavy weight had suddenly been strapped to his body, an extra hundred pounds that severely hampered his movements. He had already stepped out with one foot. Normally, his other foot would have followed, carrying him safely out of the way. This time, however, nothing of the sort happened. He managed only that single step.

A moment later, pain struck his chest. A spear had pierced his body, and he watched helplessly as it drove straight through his chest.
