Defense Tower.
Strictly speaking, this was not an exact designation, but a general term.
Although there was a tower with that very name, Rex used "defense towers" as a collective term for four types of towers.
The Defense Tower was only one of them.
The base Castle allowed four defensive structures to be built: the most basic Watch Tower, the Arcane Tower, the Defense Tower, and the Cannon Tower.
The Watch Tower differed from the other three, however. It served as the foundation for all of them.
The Watch Tower was a basic scouting tower. It had no attack power, but could be upgraded into a Defense Tower, Cannon Tower, or Arcane Tower.
This was the structure Rex wanted to test. It was fair to say that if he could build a Watch Tower, he could build the other three structures as well. Once the idea occurred to him, Rex headed straight toward the Goblin Shop. He desperately wanted to become a demigod. By now, that desire had almost become an obsession. He postponed everything else he could, all for the sake of breaking through to become a demigod and preparing to face the Lich King in Northrend.
Now that he had something he could test, how could Rex possibly hesitate?
Rex hurried to the Goblin Shop and walked to a spot beyond the hundred-meter radius around the Ironclad Men outside it. He stopped roughly a hundred and ten meters away.
There, Rex began to meditate.
He was trying to contact the base Castle to see whether he could start building a Watch Tower here.
But his attempts went poorly. Rex could not contact the base at all, and his expression darkened. The implications could not have been clearer. If he could not contact the base, he could not possibly
