Of the three types of Defense Tower, the cannon did not have the greatest attack power, but it had the fastest rate of fire.

That made it Rex's first choice. The Cannon Tower he had built was only meant for a test. Whether he used a Cannon Tower or an Arcane Tower made little difference under the circumstances, since he was merely testing an attack to see how things went. This Cannon Tower was something he had already decided to sacrifice.

He wanted to test the Cannon Tower's range and see whether it was subject to any restrictions. Most importantly, he wanted to know whether it could hit the Ironclad Men.

Previously, the Dwarf Rifleman Hero Spirit had been unable to attack the Ironclad Men at all. That had affected Rex's plans, though not too severely. Even now, if the Cannon Tower could not reach them, it would not matter. If its range fell short, he would not lure the Ironclad Men closer. A Cannon Tower could not serve as a defensive barrier; it had to deliver firepower from the rear.

Putting it at the front, where it could be attacked directly and eventually destroyed, was not a good outcome for Rex.

Rex would not be entering the Goblin Shop just once in the future. He intended to visit it often, which meant he could not afford to lose too many Cannon Towers in each battle.
