Lordaeron City was the largest city in all the human kingdoms of the day, without exception.

Neither the rebuilt Stormwind City nor Gilneas, not even Dalaran or Stromgarde with its glorious history, could compare with Lordaeron. Had Stormwind City not been destroyed and rebuilt, its size might have rivaled Lordaeron's, but that was as far as the comparison would have gone.

Rex strolled casually down the bustling street, his steps light. Shop banners fluttered high overhead, carriages rolled past, and pedestrians streamed by without end. His brow furrowed deeply. Lordaeron was far more prosperous than Gilneas, but he had prepared himself for that before coming to Lordaeron City. It was not what made him frown. Those people in their fine clothes were one thing.

But the plainly dressed commoners in linen wore troubled looks in their eyes. One or two such cases would not have caught Rex's attention, but there were far too many. The divide between rich and poor was too severe. His keen observations led him to that conclusion, though it was only a preliminary judgment. The truth still needed to be verified.

Even so, Rex had considerable faith in his assessment. Kel'Thuzad's Cult of the Damned had found such a receptive audience despite preaching a power utterly opposed to the holy light, and had duped so many people. This was the root of it.

"Osborne, go buy a few good horses, then meet us at the best inn in Lordaeron. We'll rest here for a day and leave tomorrow," Rex said evenly to Osborne beside him.
