| One of the five highest-ranked lineages | 68 | The system describes the pavilion as a leading cultivation lineage that grew stronger over hundreds of years while concealing its heretical origins. |
Background / History
Demon Star Sect Origins
The pavilion’s founding lineage began with an ancestor born able to commune with the stars. Initially regarded as an aberration, he founded the Demon Star Sect and gained protection through its strength. According to the system’s account, he later renamed it the Fallen Star Pavilion after anticipating the eventual purge of demonic and heretical factions 68.
A later account describes the old pavilion master leading surviving Demon Star Sect members into hiding after a purge three hundred years earlier, then establishing the Fallen Star Pavilion under new identities. The sect destroyed traces of this connection, leaving many present-day disciples unaware of their lineage’s origins 94.
Lu Tong’s Legacy
Lu Tong became the pavilion’s outstanding early genius. He comprehended the scripture’s general principles at thirteen and reached its seventh stage at twenty, sustaining the reputation of what was then a third-rate sect 85.
At thirty, Lu Tong was branded an Evil Cultivator because of his bloodline. Under pressure from other sects, the pavilion surrendered him. Pursued into the Skeleton Desert, he took his own life; a cenotaph was subsequently built for him, guarded by spirits who believed he had been wronged 69 85.
Despite its abandonment of him, the pavilion established an ancestral rule requiring each new generation of disciples to pay respects to his memorial tablet before joining. His remnant spirit later entrusted Ning Que with a letter for the pavilion and an apology for its current master 69 85.

Rules and Customs
- Inner Pavilion admission: Ning Que’s edited history records him entering at eight, breaking the youngest-entry record 83.
- Cultivation-text restrictions: Secretly retaining a cultivation text is punishable by having one’s cultivation crippled and being expelled. Ning Que invokes this rule over the missing scripture rubbing 84.
- Restricted storage: Mo Qingdi describes the Star Treasure Pavilion as forbidden ground when Ning Que demands access to the rubbing 84.
- Lu Tong memorial: New disciples must honor his memorial tablet before joining 85.
Headquarters
- Location: The sect occupies a concealed small world within a mountain peak, rather than an ordinary settlement on its surface 83.
- Visual identity: Deep-blue stars swirl behind towering buildings; members wear star-patterned robes 83.
- Facilities: Terraces, pavilions, medicinal gardens, a scripture repository, and disciples’ quarters are documented 83 94.
- Accommodation: Each disciple has an individual courtyard, including Ning Que upon his return 85.
- Mountain gate: Moon Gazing Pavilion investigators breach it when beginning their punitive intervention 93.
Abilities & Skills
Four Divine Constellations Scripture
The pavilion’s signature cultivation technique is exceptionally difficult, beyond the ability of some of its own geniuses to master. It was adapted from the Demon Star Sect’s Star-Devouring Art, but Ning Que’s genuine use of it displays no evil-cultivator aura 73 93 99.
- Divine Beast manifestations: Produces the Azure Dragon, White Tiger, Vermilion Bird, and Black Tortoise. Simultaneously manifesting all four identifies Ning Que as an exceptionally accomplished practitioner 73 77.
- Offensive power: Ning Que uses the White Tiger manifestation to kill Supreme Sect cultivators; his released aura destroys Lu Tong’s ruins and raises a desert sandstorm 73.
- Protection: The four manifestations absorb the Moon Gazing Pavilion’s Heavenly Thunder Punishment 99.
- Divination: The scripture’s final page contains a difficult art that allows glimpses of future events. Ning Que and Xingyunzi independently foresee the pavilion’s destruction 85.
- Danger of alteration: Incorrect constellation positions in the tampered copy could cause cultivation deviation 92.
Guard Combat and Stellar Array
The Divine Stone Guard and Shadow Guard demonstrate the pavilion’s strength by rapidly killing four Infant Transformation guest elders, then overcoming a stronger opponent through cooperation 81 82.
- Divine Stone Guard: Uses crushing palm strikes, rocklike armor, and direct interception to shield Ning Que 81.
- Shadow Guard: Moves soundlessly through shadows and kills with precise, black Finger Wind attacks 81.
- Joint array: A pavilion-specific formation manifests stars around the guards and forces the half-step divine concentration cultivator Liu Fusheng into retreat 82.
Constellation Mystic Arts
The subordinate Star Pavilion teaches constellation-based Mystic Arts. Ning Yuanzhou uses its basic teachings to soothe Heroic Spirits, while explaining that the Fallen Star Pavilion’s practices encompass considerably more 63.
Relationships
- Star Pavilion — Subordinate organization that identifies talented mortals for possible entry into the Fallen Star Pavilion. Ning Yuanzhou was selected but chose to establish Flowing Sand instead 46 56 73.
- Flowing Sand — Connected through Ning Que and Ning Yuanzhou, rather than identified as a subordinate sect. Ning Que reveals his pavilion affiliation after rescuing his father and defending Flowing Sand’s headquarters 79.
- Supreme Sect — Longstanding rival seeking to surpass the pavilion. Its defeat by Ning Que and the pavilion’s guards drives Liu Fusheng to expose the pavilion’s demonic origins 77 82.
- Moon Gazing Pavilion — Cultivation-world enforcer responsible for the earlier purges of the Demon Star Sect and Lu Tong. Its later investigation threatens the entire pavilion 83 92 95.
- Purple Sky Holy Land — Ning Que’s later backing. Its envoy Sword Slave exposes Xing Chenyuan’s scheme, overturning the accusations against Ning Que and forcing the Moon Gazing Pavilion to reassess the incident 99 101 102.
Story Role / Major Arcs
The Missing Senior Brother’s Return
Ning Que’s second Background Edit initially makes him a personal disciple punished with ten years of wandering outside the mountain. With that period over, the pavilion sends disciples to locate him 44.
His mastery of all four Divine Beast manifestations leads Li Jieyang to recognize him as the missing Inner Pavilion Senior Brother. Li Jieyang promises the pavilion will protect him from Supreme Sect retaliation, and the two guards subsequently rescue him from its attackers 73 74 81.
Upon Ning Que’s return, the background reveals that he had lost the sect’s affection after the former master’s son was born. Xingyunzi acknowledges the former master’s regret, but Ning Que immediately turns his attention to Xing Chenyuan 83.
The Scripture Dispute
Ning Que requests the half-volume scripture rubbing he left behind, invoking Lu Tong’s final wish. The elders evade his demands and protect Xing Chenyuan, while Ning Que’s divination identifies Xing as the future cause of the pavilion’s destruction 84 85.
Xing Chenyuan eventually presents a copy with altered passages, especially in its Astral Deduction section. Ning Que rejects it and accuses Xing and Mo Qingdi of attempting to sabotage his cultivation. After the leadership dismisses his warnings, he leaves the mountain 92 93.
Investigation and Scapegoating
Liu Fusheng’s report brings fifty Moon Gazing Pavilion experts to the sect. Their search initially finds no incriminating objects, but the altered scripture produced by Mo Qingdi is recognized as closely resembling the Demon Star Sect’s evil arts 92 94.
Steward Ge orders the disciples detained. Xing Chenyuan then blames Ning Que for copying and corrupting the scripture, prompting Ning Que’s arrest and Heavenly Thunder Punishment 95 96 98 99.
Sword Slave’s soul search exposes Xing Chenyuan as a Demon Star Sect heir who infiltrated the pavilion to use its resources. He had killed at least a hundred cultivators and intended to revive the sect by throwing the cultivation world into chaos 101.
The Moon Gazing Pavilion’s master promises an investigation and expels Steward Ge. Before departing for Purple Sky Holy Land, Ning Que reassures Xingyunzi that the Fallen Star Pavilion remains his backing 102.
