The boat glided silently to the massive rock at the center of the lake. Amon stepped onto the platform and walked straight toward the dormant Giant Cocoon.
He raised his right hand, his fingertips nearly touching its icy shell as he carefully examined the faint life fluctuations within, so weak they were almost extinguished.
After a moment, he shook his head with slight disappointment.
Even if I forcibly extract it, I won't get more than a few decent drops of Dragon Blood. And its activity is too low to cause genetic erosion in me.
What it contains in greater measure is the power of God's Blood. That foreign power is gradually reversing its state between life and death, reviving it!
Of course, Amon could also extract the God's Blood, but that would make the characteristics of his power more closely resemble the Main Body. To certain beings' senses, he would become as conspicuous as a beacon in the night. The cost outweighed the gain.
Just as he weighed his options, a thought slipped directly into his mind like an invisible thread:
"The aura of an Immortal God clings to you."
Amon's brow twitched almost imperceptibly. The cocoon is speaking? No... some being sensed that I had approached the cocoon and chose to communicate with me... probably through the Spirit Word: Serpent, or some similar ability.
He softly spoke a name. "Feather Spirit?"
As though responding to that name, a wave of spiritual energy instantly enveloped him. The scene before him rippled and reformed like water, and he knew he had entered a state of Spirit Vision.
The surroundings had not changed. It was still the vast karst cave, the pale red lake, and the enormous rock in the middle of the lake beneath his feet. Only the bizarre Giant Cocoon
