Rigerif patted her full, perky chest and said, "I secretly got this hunting outfit when we docked two stops ago. Vincent even scolded me for it. Luckily, I hid behind my great-grandmother and barely escaped disaster."
She knew how to use her charm to draw men's attention. She wanted Amon's gaze fixed somewhere other than the leather boot where she had hidden her little pistol. It was not very obvious, but with something stuffed inside, there was always a slight bulge.
Amon merely chuckled. "Let's go. Don't stray too far from me—put this on."
He tossed her a cloak.
"What's this for? Is it like the magical cloak from Harry Potter that can make people invisible?" she asked eagerly.
Amon nodded. "Yes. An Alchemy Matrix has been added to it. It's an excellent alchemical product."
Rigerif immediately shook out the cloak and eagerly moved closer to Amon, intending to cover him with it as well. Amon pressed his palm against her forehead and pushed her away.
"What are you doing?" Amon looked at her strangely.
"It's an invisibility cloak. Don't we have to hide under it together for it to work? There are only a few dozen guards here, and they all know each other. You don't seriously think they'll take you for one of their own just because you put on that uniform, do you?" Rigerif's eyes clearly said, Are you stupid?
"I don't need it," Amon said flatly. "Just wear it properly yourself. Don't make a sound later. Whenever you see someone, hide behind me."
They headed out, one after the other.
When she saw the patrolmen, Rigerif instinctively wanted to hide, only to find that Amon had no intention of doing so. He stopped her and raised a finger in a gesture for silence.
So, following Amon's
