Minamoto Chisaki rose from the ground, his movements accompanied by faint cracking sounds as his bones reset. He raised a hand and wiped away the trail of blood winding from the corner of his mouth with the back of it, but his gaze remained fixed on Amon.
Then, the ancient bloodline of the White King within his body began to boil and roar, like a dormant volcano awakening. The bones throughout his body shifted slightly, locking together and reinforcing one another, forming a skeleton beneath his skin and flesh that seemed forged as one.
Dragon Bone State, activated!
His brilliant Golden Eyes were like two blazing furnaces, fierce and majestic.
"Your Spirit Word is Time Zero, isn't it? The same ability as Principal Ange's." Minamoto Chisaki's voice was slightly slurred from the swelling in his cheeks.
Time Zero had two forms. If the flow of time within one's domain was accelerated to the extreme, observers would see a fractured effect as though time itself had been cut away. But if time was merely stretched several times over, its outward manifestation was absolute speed so fast it drove people to despair.
What Amon had displayed was undoubtedly the latter: extreme speed, yet not so fast that people could not react at all. But that speed was utterly mismatched with the force of his attacks. If he had achieved such speed through physical power alone, his strength should have been devastating. Yet while Amon's fists and kicks were heavy, they had not reached that level.
That imbalance allowed Minamoto Chisaki to guess the nature of his ability.
Amon raised an eyebrow and said with a smile, "So what if it is? Can you handle this kind of godlike speed?"
Minamoto Chisaki said nothing more. He drew a deep breath, filling his lungs
