Amon followed Minamoto Chisaki into a concealed floor. Secret areas like this were not uncommon in the building, but this one seemed especially unusual even among hidden places.
The corridor was deserted, with a faint scent of Formalin drifting in from afar. The design of the space carried a contradictory air, as though a heavily fortified stronghold and a sterile hospital had been forcibly fused together. The walls were exceptionally thick and solid, painted a frigid white.
The route twisted and turned, passing through several heavy security doors. Yet the deeper they went, the more spacious the area became. The final passageway was seven or eight meters wide, its walls gleaming with the cold, hard sheen of metal.
At the end of the passage stood a pure white metal door. A glaring dark red fluid was bubbling out from beneath the crack, winding across the polished floor. The scent of Formalin in the air had been utterly overwhelmed by a thick, nauseating stench of blood.
Minamoto Chisaki's expression changed at once—the Dead Servants had actually infiltrated this place!
It was not Erii's safety that worried him. He was only afraid they would scare her and cause her to go berserk—like a girl switching into rage mode after seeing a cockroach.
He rushed forward and violently shoved open the unlocked metal door.
The sight beyond it was like hell.
More than a dozen corpses lay scattered throughout the room. They had all been medical staff. Some were still relatively intact, but most had been torn to pieces, as though ripped apart by brute force and brutally gnawed by sharp teeth. Organs and bone fragments, mixed with thick blood, were smeared across the floor.
The perpetrator of the massacre had also been slain. It was an astonishingly large Dead Servant, its body
