Naga swung her bone staff.
In an instant, the heavens and earth changed color.
The crimson flames shot up fiercely. The air above the altar hummed and trembled, as though something heavy had awakened from slumber.
Wind surged in from all directions, carrying ash and sparks as it twisted into a slowly rotating vortex in the sky. Naga's red robes snapped in the gale, and her shadow stretched longer and longer in the firelight, nearly covering the entire altar.
Fenrir hesitated.
His enormous dragon head lowered slightly. His lantern-like eyes blinked as he looked at Xia Mi, then at Naga. He and Naga had gotten along fairly well, and he did not really want to fight her.
But he had to listen to his sister.
Fenrir hesitated for only an instant. Then his mountain-like body slowly yet resolutely took a step forward. His claw landed on the stone with a dull, thunderous boom, as though someone were beating a drum with an entire mountain.
He stood at Xia Mi's side.
