Just then, a gentle breeze swept past, carrying pink camellia petals as brilliant as the evening sky. Like fairies dressed in splendid robes, the petals danced lightly through the air.
Camellia stood quietly there. Her slender fingers were like nimble paintbrushes, and with a gentle tap, she seemed to unleash a wondrous magical power.
The camellia petals, which had been drifting apart like snowflakes, slowly gathered together as though drawn by an invisible magic. As Camellia's fingers danced, that mysterious power swelled like surging waves, and the petals began arranging themselves in a marvelous rhythm.
In an instant, an astonishing sight unfolded before them: the camellia flower that had scattered across the ground, wilted and ruined, miraculously became a whole, exquisitely beautiful blossom once more!
Its soft pink petals overlapped in layers, like a painstakingly crafted work of art; its golden center gleamed and gave off a faint fragrance, as though it were a precious gift from nature.
The entire flower looked so flawless that it seemed to have come from a fairyland, never having suffered the scattering and shattering of moments before.
Just then, a clear, familiar call drifted in from outside the courtyard: "An'an! I've come to pick up the flower!" To An'an, the voice felt like a spring breeze brushing gently past her ears.
It was Wang Ke's voice, tinged with eagerness and anticipation. Clearly, he could hardly wait to see that beautiful camellia.
An'an's little cheeks flushed like two small apples. She bowed her head so low that she nearly buried it in the ground and murmured, "Wang Ke, I'm here. Here's your flower~"
Wang Ke took the flower, then bent down with a smile and patted An'an's head. "Thanks for all your hard work, An'an~ Thank you for taking such good care of the flower~ My grandma will be so happy when she sees it."
"Ahhh, Wang Ke's smile is like the warm spring sun, so gentle and comforting that I could lose myself in it forever~" An'an cupped her cheeks in her hands, looking like a flower in full bloom, her face filled with adoration.
When Wang Ke reached the gate, he seemed to remember something. "Oh, right. This is for you, An'an, as a thank-you gift~ I hope you'll grow up like a camellia." He took out a camellia hair clip and gave it to her.
"Grow up like a camellia?" An'an did not quite understand.
"That's right. In the language of flowers, camellias mean modesty, loveliness, and humility. You have those qualities too, An'an~" Wang Ke's eyes curved with his smile as he spoke.
In that dim corner, Sen Lijiu stood silently.
His figure was shrouded in shadow, yet his smile was as bright and dazzling as sunlight piercing the clouds. Like the warmest ray of winter sunshine, it dispelled the cold and darkness around him, carrying an indescribable charm and warmth that made people want to draw closer and feel the warmth from deep within his heart.
The curve of his smile was just right, and the slight lift at the corners of his mouth added a touch of playfulness and liveliness. Looking at that smile was like basking in gentle sunlight, one's body and mind wrapped in tenderness. "I wonder whether this human child will still hold on to those qualities once she knows what she'll have to face. I really can't wait~"
That night, An'an kept recalling Wang Ke's gentleness, utterly absorbed in it. "Hehe, the gift Wang Ke gave me~ It's so cute~ Wang Ke is so good to me~"
