For the Soul Master World, and indeed the entire Douluo Continent, this was another momentous day.
Early that morning, countless people had already gathered at the foot of Holy Soul Mountain, gazing up at the magnificent building atop it.
A few days earlier, Bibi Dong had announced her abdication, passing the papal throne to the Pope's first heir in line. Today was the great day when Spirit Hall's new Pope would take office. On the terrace of that magnificent building atop the mountain, the new Pope of Spirit Hall would deliver his address.
At the same time, the new Pope would proclaim to the world that Bibi Dong was Spirit Hall's Supreme Pontiff; Hu Liena was its Senior Holy Maiden; and Xiao Xingyue was its Holy Maiden and the Pope's first heir in line.
In front of the Papal Hall lay a sizable plaza. Within it, Spirit Hall's one hundred and eight Red-Robed Archbishops stood in orderly ranks.
Across the entire continent, Spirit Hall had a total of one hundred and eight Red-Robed Archbishops-Platinum Bishops. There was only one occasion that would bring all of them together here: the swearing-in of a new Pope.
Behind the Red-Robed Archbishops stood a dense sea of Red-Robed Cardinals. Becoming a Red-Robed Cardinal required, without exception, the strength of a Soul Saint. Ahead of the Red-Robed Archbishops stood Spirit Hall's Golden Generation: Xie Yue, Yan, Hu Liena, Xu Yu, Li Kai, Zhang Ping, and Xiao Xingyue. Farther forward stood the Elders of the Elder Hall.
Of course, to conceal its true strength, the Elder Hall had sent only seven Elders, including Chrysanthemum Douluo and Ghost Douluo, to represent it at the new Pope's inauguration.
