"Old Goat, calm down for a moment. Hear us brothers out first," Niu Gao urged.
"So you've chosen him. Fine. Consider me never to have come here today." A trace of disappointment appeared in Yang Wudi's eyes as he swept his gaze over the three sect leaders. Then he turned and walked away.
"Who are you?" Niu Gao frowned, staring at Su Chen.
"What's wrong with you two? I told you to wait in the side hall. Why did you come here without permission?" Niu Gao's son, Niu Ben, looked at Su Chen and Ren Lao with displeasure.
Just then, a member of the Defense Clan hurried to Niu Gao's side and whispered something into his ear.
Niu Gao's expression changed at his words, and he glanced at Su Chen and Ren Lao. No longer in the mood to pursue Su Chen's offense, he said, "Old Ape, Old White Crane, people from the Elephant Armor Sect of the Lower Four Sects are here."
"What are they here for? Could they be trying to absorb your Defense Clan too?" Tai Tan, chief of the Strength Clan, felt a surge of delight.
During the three days since Tai Tan and Tang San had arrived at the Defense Clan, the Elephant Armor Sect had not come to cause trouble. Coupled with Old Rhino Niu Gao's resentment toward the Clear Sky Sect, this meant the Defense Clan had yet to agree to join the Tang Sect as it had in the original storyline. Niu Gao had merely compromised by allowing Tang San to attend the four clans' gathering.
Not only the Defense Clan, but even Bai He's Speed Clan had yet to agree to merge into the Tang Sect.
"Who came?" Bai He asked.
"The Celestial Elephant, Huyan Zhen," Niu Gao replied with a
