The path the Spirit Vine True Self had laid out for Lin Tian was the path of flames: attaining Primordial Unity through fire, and using spirit stones to acquire the merit of heaven and earth to attain Sainthood.
Mastering the Hongmeng sacred flame would open the path to becoming a Chaos Great Encompassing Golden Immortal.
There were many kinds of flames, and Lin Tian needed to master them all.
Solar true flame, Ninefold Samadhi True Flame, Six-Ding divine fire, Red Lotus karmic fire, Southern Bright Li Fire, Nirvana Strike divine fire, Taiyin true fire, Ziwei heavenly fire, and the Nine Heavens Profound Fire-he had to master all nine divine fires.
Then he would use the four great heavenly fires of the Four Great Spirit Lamps to fuse them into the Hongmeng sacred flame. Once he reached that stage, he would achieve mastery of the Flame Dao and could become a Chaos Great Encompassing Golden Immortal.
He would then be a Flame God in every sense of the word.
Nuwa had given the Precious Lotus Lantern to Yang Chan, but because of Lin Tian's rise, her plans for Yang Chan had been postponed indefinitely, perhaps even canceled.
And so the Precious Lotus Lantern had become Yang Chan's fortuitous opportunity.
As for why Nuwa had given Yang Chan the Precious Lotus Lantern, she had other schemes in mind. Whether intentionally or not, they would ultimately trigger the Precious Lotus Lantern Calamity.
The final outcome of the Precious Lotus Lantern affair was human-deity intermarriage and the revision of the Heavenly Laws.
Perhaps this was one of Nuwa's strategies to retaliate against the Heavenly Court, as well as a way for her to reclaim it.
During the Dharma-Ending Age, the spiritual energy of heaven and earth would run dry, but the Heavenly Court still
