Background and History

Founding and early expansion

The Azure Cloud Sect rose by turning against an overlord. Founding Patriarch Li Jing regarded subordinate sects as especially dangerous because they could recruit talented outsiders and expand faster than bloodline-based cultivation lineages. His response was to prevent rival sects from developing within Azure Cloud territory 28.

Its later branch network incorporated former sect sites. Eastern Splendor Mountain became the Eastern Splendor Province Branch after the sect previously occupying it was absorbed; Violet Glow Mountain, formerly the Purple Glow Sect’s seat, became its Central Southern Circuit base 51 271.

Defeat against the Barbarian Tribe

Fifty years before the account of the sect’s surrounding powers, Azure Cloud mobilized 200,000 sect and affiliated-lineage cultivators against the southern Barbarian Tribe. Preemptive Human–Demon War

Repeated large beast tides from the Azure Cloud Range had inflicted enormous losses on the sect. To reduce the next tide’s strength, Azure Cloud organized scouting missions and an offensive against demon populations 108.
