Liu Xing had barely risen to his feet when the boss swept him with an icy gaze.
Before arriving on Connors Star, the boss had already known it was a garbage planet that should have been devoid of human life. Although he had been locked in fierce combat with the Black-Clad Woman earlier, he had long since noticed Liu Xing. Naturally, he found it strange that a human had suddenly appeared on this garbage planet.
But the boss could sense no fluctuations of spiritual energy from Liu Xing. Knowing he was merely an ordinary human, he paid him little mind.
The boss had just endured the Black-Clad Woman's desperate final strike. Though he had escaped with his life, he was gravely wounded, and his spiritual energy was almost exhausted.
He had originally intended to thoroughly humiliate the Black-Clad Woman's lifeless body, but after taking a few steps, his strength gave out, forcing him to sit down and rest.
The spiritual energy remaining within him was no longer enough to support any powerful techniques, but he was still utterly confident he could deal with a mortal like Liu Xing.
The bumpkin act Liu Xing put on only convinced the boss that handling a fellow like this would be as easy as reaching out and grabbing him.
"Boy, you have a good eye, recognizing my divine methods. This she-devil has already been put to death by my supernatural powers. Drag her corpse over here, and I will grant you rewards that will benefit you for the rest of your life."
The boss was too weak to move now. Seeing Liu Xing's burly build, he figured the boy must have some strength, so he tossed out empty promises to get Liu Xing to do the heavy lifting. Once he had finished using him, disposing of the boy would naturally be as easy as crushing an ant.
The boss knew he had taken an enormous risk with what he had done today. Otherwise, of the five brothers, he would not have been the only one left alive. Naturally, he had no intention of leaving any witnesses. Both the Black-Clad Woman and Liu Xing were already marked for death.
The Black-Clad Woman's primordial spirit had dissipated, which was no different from having her soul scattered to oblivion. She was no longer a threat, and a mere mortal like Liu Xing was even less worthy of the boss's attention.
At the thought of the treasure on the Black-Clad Woman, the boss felt a surge of excitement. Even after taking such a risk and losing four brothers, everything would have been worth it as long as he obtained that treasure. Once the foolish boy dragged her corpse over, he would seize it immediately. As for the boy, he could dispose of him with a casual flick of his hand, and all would be well.
And then there was the Black-Clad Woman herself. She had always held herself high above them, treating the brothers like servants. Now that she had fallen into his hands, even if only her empty shell remained, he would have to defile and toy with it to vent the bitter rage in his heart!
At that thought, the boss could not resist looking up at the Black-Clad Woman. Though she lay slumped on the ground, her graceful figure remained unmistakable. Hot blood surged through him, and his pain-racked body seemed to regain its vigor. He was already imagining the soul-melting, bone-eroding pleasure of violating her.
Perhaps he was too pleased with himself, for the boss made no attempt to conceal anything now. His face, a mangled mess of blood and flesh, was twisted with savagery, and his eyes brimmed with greed.
Liu Xing inwardly frowned. He could sense an intense killing intent from this so-called boss, a feeling several times more dangerous than facing the fiercest animals on Connors Star!
This boss will definitely kill me to silence me. The question is, when will he strike? Do I have any way to deal with him?
Though Liu Xing was highly skilled, he had no confidence whatsoever when facing a cultivator, even one so badly wounded that he looked as though he might die at any moment.
Whenever he thought of that devastating black radiance the boss could unleash so effortlessly, Liu Xing knew he had to tread carefully, or he could lose his life at any moment.
For now, the old man was not guarding against Liu Xing, but without any certainty of success, Liu Xing did not dare make a rash move.
Do I really have to do this fellow's bidding, then look for an opening?
As that thought crossed his mind, Liu Xing suddenly noticed the powerful greed in the eyes of the self-proclaimed boss as he stared fixedly at the Black-Clad Woman.
It seems this fellow really doesn't think anything of me. But the greed he's showing so openly also means this Black-Clad Woman is extremely important to him!
Within moments, Liu Xing had formed a plan. Outwardly, he walked obediently to the Black-Clad Woman and reached down to seize one of her arms, looking for all the world as though he really intended to drag her over to the boss.
The moment he grasped her arm, Liu Xing felt something strange. The Black-Clad Woman's skin was remarkably supple, with a warm, silky feel unlike anything he had ever experienced.
No matter how he looked at it, this Black-Clad Woman did not seem dead!
But there was no time to ponder it now. Secretly gathering strength in his hand, Liu Xing suddenly swung her body up and hurled her toward the boss as though he were flinging a large burlap sack.
The boss froze in surprise. He had ordered Liu Xing to drag the Black-Clad Woman over, never expecting him to throw her instead.
For a moment, the boss did not stop to consider how Liu Xing could possess such strength. He merely reached out with both hands instinctively, intending to catch the Black-Clad Woman.
Unfortunately, he would never get that chance!
Even as he hurled the Black-Clad Woman, Liu Xing saw the boss's attention shift toward her. Without the slightest hesitation, he drove his feet against the ground and sprang into the air, stomping viciously down at the boss with the crushing momentum of Mount Tai.
The boss saw a blur before his eyes. Before he could catch the Black-Clad Woman, two enormous soles landed on top of his head. Before he could react at all, a tremendous force slammed down through his skull, brutally driving his body flat against the ground.
Liu Xing knew he could not afford even a moment's hesitation. He pressed down harder with his feet, crushing the boss's head into a pulp as though stomping open a watermelon.
Only then did the Black-Clad Woman's body fall toward him. Liu Xing deftly extended both arms and caught her securely.
