Jieyin and Zhunti had both attained sainthood. With that, all six Saints of the Primordial World had taken their places, and the only remaining wisp of Primordial Purple Qi was the last one in the Dao Ancestor's hands.
In the Eight Sceneries Palace, in Great Red Heaven.
As Laozi finished preaching, all the immortals and gods who had come to listen, Gungun included, gradually awoke. Sensing what had happened in the Primordial World, they were startled, then hurriedly rose and bowed toward it, saying respectfully, "Praise to Saint Jieyin! Praise to Saint Zhunti!"
Attaining sainthood was a momentous event. Even though they were currently in Chaos, they still had to pay their respects.
Bowing toward the Primordial World, Gungun thought, Now the Primordial World has truly entered the age of Saints!
"The hundred years of preaching have ended. You may all return to your own abodes," Laozi said calmly from the seat of honor.
"Yes! We thank the Saint for the grace of his teachings. We take our leave!" Having finished paying their respects to Jieyin and Zhunti, the gods straightened, turned, and bowed to Laozi as well, speaking respectfully.
Then they each departed.
"Gungun, let's go too," Houtu said, stroking Gungun's head.
"No, Ancestral Witch, you go back first. Earlier, in Taisu Heaven, the Taiqing Saint said he had a fated opportunity for me and told me to come see him when I had time, so I need to stay here a little longer," Gungun said, looking up at Houtu.
"A fated opportunity?" Hearing this, Houtu looked toward Laozi, who sat with his eyes closed in the seat of honor. After hesitating for a moment, she told Gungun, "Then I'll wait for you outside the palace."
With that, she turned and walked out.
Watching Houtu leave, Gungun considered it.
