Just as Shin Uchiha and Uchiha Fugaku were about to part ways, Uchiha Fugaku suddenly called him back.
"Clan Leader Shin, do you have time right now? There's one more favor I'd like to ask."
Shin Uchiha gave Uchiha Fugaku a surprised look, unsure what he wanted, but nodded anyway. After all, Uchiha Fugaku had just given him his family's heirloom, and he wasn't the sort to forget a kindness.
With Uchiha Fugaku leading the way, they arrived at his new home.
The house occupied a sizable plot. Though there hadn't yet been time to decorate the interior, it looked imposing from outside.
Shin Uchiha also had a house just as large as Uchiha Fugaku's. Looking at it now, Fugaku must have already decided to hand over the position of clan leader to him when the houses were being built.
Uchiha Fugaku led Shin Uchiha into a quiet room.
Once Shin Uchiha was seated, Uchiha Fugaku spoke without hesitation:
"Shin, I invited you here because I need to trouble you with something."
Shin Uchiha nodded, signaling for Uchiha Fugaku to continue.
Uchiha Fugaku took a palm-sized scroll straight out of his robes, then unrolled it on the table.
Once the scroll was open, Shin Uchiha saw that it bore only a large character meaning "seal," surrounded by a ring of intricate patterns.
It was an ordinary sealing scroll. Shin Uchiha recognized it at once and continued watching without betraying any emotion.
After opening the scroll, Uchiha Fugaku formed a simple hand seal, releasing its sealing and revealing what had been stored inside.
When Shin Uchiha saw the unsealed objects, his expression remained calm, but his sharply contracting pupils betrayed his inner turmoil.
There were merely four ordinary glass jars sitting on the scroll, each filled with a clear liquid.
