At Obito Uchiha's words, Kakashi's pupil contracted sharply. Now he was absolutely certain that the mysterious man before him was someone he knew-perhaps even someone he knew well.
Kakashi raised his right hand, holding his kunai in a reverse grip, and brought it in front of him. His eye remained fixed on the mysterious man as he asked in a grave voice tinged with pain:
"Who are you, really? What exactly did you come to Konoha for?"
Although Kakashi's strength had stagnated, his intelligence and experience had grown considerably. Even after this brief encounter, he could clearly sense that the man before him was someone familiar. As someone from Konoha, anyone he knew that well had to be from Konoha too, or at least have belonged to it once.
And those people had all once been his comrades. That realization brought Kakashi a pang of sorrow. Still, experienced as he was, he quickly suppressed those distracting thoughts. His priority now was to escape this man alive. After all, that ability of his was extremely troublesome.
Hearing Kakashi's questions, Obito Uchiha could not resist sneering. "Kakashi, you worthless fool. What right do you have to question me?"
As he spoke, he extended his right hand toward Kakashi, loosely curling his fingers. "Let me send a failure like you out of this world. It's not as though you can accomplish anything anyway."
At Obito Uchiha's words, Kakashi knew there was no possibility of reconciliation. Facing him, Kakashi rapidly formed hand seals.
