Although Qiu Shan Uchiha had no Precognition Type Dōjutsu, he did possess Uchiha Fugaku's Dōjutsu, Illusion—Momentary Space-Time. He also knew that the Uchiha Clan would be massacred in the future, so he used Fugaku's illusion to create lifelike scenes of Shisui Uchiha's death and the clan's destruction, then showed them to the Elder.
Of course, he replaced Uchiha Itachi with a masked man in the scenes of the massacre that night. Itachi would still be of great use to him later. He did not mind the Elder becoming wary of Itachi; what worried him was that the Elder might kill Itachi outright when he was not looking.
That was entirely possible. The Elder was not Uchiha Fugaku. He had worked tirelessly for the Uchiha Clan all his life, dedicating his entire existence to it. If he learned that Itachi would destroy the clan in the future, he would eliminate that threat no matter what.
Qiu Shan Uchiha only showed the Elder a few fragments and scenes. As they neared their end, an idea struck him, and he added the scene of Nagato, the leader of the Akatsuki, invading Konoha and leveling it with a single Super Shinra Tensei. That would make persuading the Elder to leave Konoha much easier.
As for the later scene in which Naruto Uzumaki persuaded Nagato to revive everyone who had died in Konoha, naturally, he left that out. (I didn't lie. I only told part of the truth.)
Since Qiu Shan Uchiha used this Dōjutsu illusion solely as a genjutsu, without inflicting any mental damage, and maintained it only briefly, it was essentially the same as taking the Elder to see a 3D blockbuster. It cost him very little energy. (Hmm, another use for this Dōjutsu.)
After guiding the Elder through those scenes within the illusion space, Qiu Shan Uchiha withdrew from it along with him.
The stunned expression on the Elder's face, however, lingered for a long time. Only when Qiu Shan Uchiha had nearly finished the tea in his cup did the Elder finally come back to his senses.
The Elder took a small sip of tea and let out a long sigh. He seemed to have aged several years, and even his back, which had always been straight, had begun to stoop.
Only then did Qiu Shan Uchiha remember that the Elder belonged to the same generation as the Third Hokage. At their age, they were already considered elderly in the shinobi world.
At last, the Elder spoke, his voice tinged with self-mockery. "To think that our great Uchiha Clan would meet such an end-slaughtered to the last."
"They even killed Shisui and took his eyes. Ah, that boy was good in every way, but he was too kind and worried about too many things. Otherwise, with his strength, how could he have been killed so easily?"
After saying this, the Elder could not stop a few tears from slipping down his face.
Seeing the Elder cry, Qiu Shan Uchiha had no desire to mock him. He knew the Elder genuinely cherished these outstanding younger members of the Uchiha Clan.
Instead, he reassured him. "Elder, none of this has happened yet. I've already warned Shisui and made arrangements for him to ensure he survives safe and sound."
At Qiu Shan Uchiha's words, the Elder wiped the tears from his face and put away his grief. His expression grew solemn, and a ruthless glint appeared in his eyes.
"Not only were the Third Hokage and that old bastard Danzo inextricably involved in Shisui's death, but the arrangements around the Uchiha District on the night of the massacre were clearly their handiwork too. Otherwise, that masked Uchiha traitor could never have wiped out our clan so quietly, even if he were Lord Madara returned from the dead."
Then a look of satisfaction crossed his face. "Still, your Konoha didn't fare much better. Just a few years later, an enemy came knocking at its gates and destroyed the entire village."
At that, surprise and uncertainty appeared on the Elder's face. "Those eyes... I feel like I've seen them somewhere before..." As he spoke, he rose and left the reception room.
Qiu Shan Uchiha did not hurry him. He knew the Elder had gone to find the records passed down through the Uchiha Clan. The reason the Elder's position stood above the rest was that his line safeguarded those records. Even the clan head only had the right to read them and could not take them away except under special circumstances.
Thus, the Uchiha Clan had always maintained both the clan head's line and the Elder's line, each keeping the other in check while also offering support. Otherwise, the clan could never have endured for so long.
Qiu Shan Uchiha waited only a short while before the Elder returned carrying a somewhat aged book. He carefully wiped the table before solemnly setting the book down, opening it, and turning through its pages.
Before long, the Elder stopped turning the pages, let out a long breath, and nodded.
"There's no mistake. To think those eyes have appeared in the world. These truly are troubled times."
Seeing Qiu Shan Uchiha looking at him in confusion, the Elder continued his explanation.
"The man who invaded Konoha had rather unusual eyes. They looked familiar, so I tried searching the records passed down through our Uchiha clan. I never expected to actually find them."
A look of longing filled the Elder's eyes as he said, "Those were the eyes of the legendary Sage of Six Paths-the Rinnegan. They are said to possess immense power and many incredible abilities. They can even reverse life and death, bringing the dead back to life."
"It seems the technique he used to destroy Konoha must have been one of the Rinnegan's abilities. Otherwise, it could never have been so powerful."
Qiu Shan Uchiha grew curious as well. He accepted the book the Elder handed him and turned to the page describing the Rinnegan. There was an illustration of the eyes, identical to Nagato's, with a passage beside it: "The eyes of Six Paths, also known as the Rinnegan, possess many wondrous abilities. They can gaze into the underworld and commune with ghosts and gods, grant flight without wings, distinguish truth from falsehood, discern lies, and draw souls back from the underworld to restore them to life."
Qiu Shan Uchiha turned through a few more pages and found accounts of extraordinary people and strange events from ancient times to the present. They opened his eyes to a whole new world.
As he read, Qiu Shan Uchiha could not help marveling. This was the Uchiha Clan's true legacy. It passed down not only the power of the Sharingan, but also knowledge, insights, experience, and ways to respond to different situations. Those were the real foundations that supported a clan.
Knowing this was one of the Uchiha Clan's treasured books, Qiu Shan Uchiha held it in his hands, reluctant to let go. Shamelessly, he said to the Elder, "Let me take this home to read. I'll bring it back once I'm finished."
The Elder chuckled at Qiu Shan Uchiha's shameless behavior and waved a hand. "If you want to read it, take it. There aren't many people who enjoy reading like you do anymore. That bastard Uchiha Fugaku-I sent him some books when he became clan head, and what did he do? He sent them all back without reading a single word."
"I have several hundred books like this here. If I weren't afraid you'd lose them, I'd give you the whole lot."
