Power Progression
| Stage / Realm / Level | Chapter | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Three-Tomoe Sharingan / Elite Jōnin | 1 5 | Already attained before the story opens through strong mental energy and training. His system activates and enables him to copy and assimilate Mangekyō techniques. |
| Mangekyō Sharingan / Kage level | 4 5 | Awakens after copying Shisui’s Kotoamatsukami. His eyes initially reproduce Shisui’s four-pointed shuriken pattern; chakra reserves double and genjutsu strengthens dramatically. |
| Assimilated Kotoamatsukami | 6 | The system finishes learning the technique, reducing its recovery period from over ten years to six months and improving Mangekyō recovery. |
| Expanded Mangekyō foundation | 11 | Copies Fugaku’s Illusion-Momentary Space-Time and Izanagi, along with his Sharingan’s potential, foundations, and traits. His activated pattern reproduces Fugaku’s Mangekyō. |
| Assimilated illusion technique and Izanagi | 14 | Izanagi’s cooldown falls to three days. Illusion-Momentary Space-Time becomes reusable without a cooldown while chakra lasts; Mangekyō side effects decrease further. |
| Personal Mangekyō / Ocular-technique capacity reached | 19 20 21 | Develops his own pattern and awakens Copying Eye and Takamagahara. The system forbids further Mangekyō-technique acquisition until he obtains the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan. |
| Lightning Release Armor acquired | 32 | Copies Kojiro Shimamura’s technique. Its speed and reflex enhancement lets him overwhelm and capture the opponent who had exposed his physical weakness. |
| Improved physical conditioning | 34 | Repeated Lightning Release Armor practice increases strength, toughness, and reflexes. His appetite grows to at least four times its previous size. |
| Susanoo awakened / Near peak Kage level | 39 41 | Destroys Danzō’s Root contingent with a single sword slash. Other clan leaders recognize him as already approaching the peak of Kage-level strength. |
| Further body development | 48 49 | Trains toward the physical foundation he believes is necessary for Eternal Mangekyō evolution. Becomes visibly more muscular, but cellular damage limits his training sessions. |
Background / History
Qiu Shan’s parents were ordinary Uchiha shinobi: his father was a jōnin and his mother a chūnin. Both died on a mission when he was nine, leaving him a modest house with a small courtyard and little inheritance 19.
By the opening chapter, he has lived as a transmigrant in the Naruto world for three years. His knowledge of future events and unusually strong mental energy helped him develop a Three-Tomoe Sharingan, but did not give him the combat aptitude of Shisui or Itachi. Although he is a few years older than Itachi and reached three tomoe a year earlier, their sparring still ends in a draw 1.
Expecting the Uchiha massacre within a few years, he initially plans to flee and quietly rescue only a few close companions. The activation of his Sharingan system changes that calculation, giving him a way to accumulate ocular power and intervene directly in the clan’s fate 1.
Appearance
- Eyes: Naturally black; display three tomoe when his ordinary Sharingan is active 1.
- Looks: Notably handsome even among the Uchiha 26.
- Personal Mangekyō pattern: An intricate design resembling Shisui’s pattern with a hollow interior and Obito’s pattern with barely connected tips 19.
- Changing build: Initially resembles an agile ninjutsu-and-genjutsu specialist. Lightning Release Armor conditioning makes him visibly more muscular; he also suspects he has grown taller 49.
- Shinobi identification: Openly wears his Konoha forehead protector while investigating Kojiro Shimamura 29.
Personality
Qiu Shan prioritizes survival, independence, and personal strength. He wants to secure the Uchiha’s future partly so that he can travel freely without fear of the clan’s destruction. Although emotionally attached to Konoha, he increasingly regards it as a cage enforced by surveillance and political distrust 28 40.
His protective intentions coexist with calculated deception and coercion. He fabricates a precognitive ability to influence Shisui, selectively edits future events shown to Ling, and uses Kotoamatsukami to subjugate Fugaku and Mikoto. Mikoto’s belief that he is a wholly self-sacrificing guardian does not match his own assessment of his motives 2 10 13 15 23.
He is capable of affection and discreet kindness: he vows to save Shisui, helps Naruto obtain food without attracting official attention, and accepts lasting responsibility for Sasuke’s upbringing. His playful streak can also become insensitive, particularly when he provokes the grieving Itachi while waiting for Shisui’s revival 4 19 41 42 47.
Sudden gains in power sometimes make him overconfident. Mikoto’s near-fatal attack leaves him frightened and more cautious, while later training shows a willingness to endure painful work rather than rely entirely on shortcuts 12 14 48 49.
Abilities & Skills
Sharingan System
- Assimilation rather than imitation: Copied techniques are studied and digested until they become his own, providing material for further Sharingan evolution 1.
- Underlying traits: Copying another Sharingan also transfers aspects of its potential, foundations, and specialization. Shisui’s genjutsu-oriented traits greatly strengthen Qiu Shan’s illusions 11.
- Reduced drawbacks: Assimilation shortens technique cooldowns, extends Mangekyō usage, and allows limited recovery from deterioration 6 14.
- Capacity limit: His developed Mangekyō reaches three ocular techniques per eye. Further Mangekyō techniques must wait for Eternal Mangekyō evolution 14 19.
- Remaining strain: Frequent spatial-dōjutsu use still causes discomfort despite the system’s reductions to side effects 44.
Copying Eye
- Perception: Sees through false appearances to the underlying nature of an ability 20.
- Acquisition: Can copy kekkei genkai, secret techniques, and ninjutsu after observing their use or studying them long enough 20.
- Bloodline capacity: Can hold six copied kekkei genkai in addition to his own Sharingan; cannot copy a bloodline ability of a higher tier than itself 20.
- Ordinary techniques: No numerical limit is stated for copied non-kekkei-genkai techniques 20.
- Confirmed application: Acquires Lightning Release Armor from Kojiro Shimamura 32.
- Unfulfilled targets: Flying Thunder God, Wood Release, Kamui, and the Light-Weight Rock Technique remain desired abilities rather than documented acquisitions 20 48 49.
Kotoamatsukami
- Effect: Rewrites thoughts and will, allowing Qiu Shan to make his wishes a target’s overriding commands 10 13.
- Confirmed targets: Fugaku and Mikoto. Fugaku’s own Mangekyō does not stop the technique when Qiu Shan catches him unprepared 10 13.
- Cooldown: Six months after system assimilation, compared with Shisui’s recovery period of over ten years 6.
- Political use: Qiu Shan and Shisui initially plan subtle changes to village leaders, fearing that conspicuous behavioral shifts could be detected by Shikaku Nara or the Yamanaka 5.
- Restraint: Qiu Shan ultimately wins Ling’s initial support without using the technique 9 15.
Illusion-Momentary Space-Time
- Origin: Copied from Fugaku; also rendered as Illusion-Instant Space-Time 11.
- Effect: Traps a target in an illusion where a month can pass for the victim in an instant outside 11.
- Improved availability: Fugaku’s once-daily restriction disappears after assimilation; Qiu Shan can reuse it while he has sufficient chakra 14.
- Persuasive application: Uses a weak illusion to present selected future events to Ling as supposed precognitive revelations 22 23.
Izanagi and Transcription Seal
- Effect: Alters fate and undoes unfavorable outcomes, including death 11.
- Mangekyō version: The copied form avoids the ordinary technique’s permanent loss of sight. Qiu Shan’s assimilated version has a three-day cooldown 11 14.
- Delayed activation: Seals Izanagi into one of Shisui’s eyes to revive him twelve hours after his heart stops 28.
- Successful safeguard: Shisui returns alive after his death has been confirmed by outside observers 42 43.
- Limits of preparedness: When Mikoto pierces Qiu Shan’s heart, his own Izanagi has not finished assimilating. Fugaku—not Qiu Shan—uses Izanagi to undo that attack 12.
Takamagahara
- Private dimension: Connects to an island with water and vegetation but initially no animals; serves as a refuge, storage area, training ground, and private meeting place 20 28 45 48.
- Spatial travel: Invisible marks can be placed on objects or empty space, allowing instant travel to marked locations regardless of distance 20.
- Marks on people: Marked individuals can enter his space themselves. Qiu Shan can remove marks at will 21.
- Mikoto’s access: Places a mark between her eyebrows, appearing as a small sky-blue dot that fades when not activated with chakra 26 33.
- Passenger transport: Moves Shisui and Itachi to Whirlpool Island and later transfers more than a hundred elite Uchiha into his dimension 44 50.
- Limitations: Does not provide Kamui-style intangibility. Qiu Shan describes it as better suited to survival and travel than combat 20 26.
- Access control: Withholds personal space marks from Shisui and Itachi because the ability is his emergency escape safeguard 43.
Susanoo
- Combat feat: Eliminates Danzō’s Root contingent, including several powerful jōnin, with one sword slash 39 41.
- Utility: Uses Susanoo to remove the Uchiha Stone Tablet from Naka Shrine 47.
- Documented limits: No specific Susanoo stage is confirmed. His earlier expectation of reaching its second or third stage is a prediction, not a recorded advancement 5.
Lightning Release Armor
- Combat enhancement: Greatly increases speed and reflexes; paired with Sharingan tracking, it allows him to overpower Kojiro 32.
- Body conditioning: Uses electrical currents to stimulate his cells and strengthen his physique 34 48.
- Training cost: Pain and potential cellular damage force him to stop a documented session after two hours 49.
- Recovery limitation: His rudimentary medical ninjutsu cannot repair the damage well enough to support unrestricted training 49.
- Evolution goal: Trains his body toward what he believes are the requirements for Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan; that evolution has not occurred in the supplied chapters 48 50.
Supporting Shinobi Skills
- Shadow Clones: Uses clones for reconnaissance, discreet supply purchases, and attending administrative discussions 28 29 49.
- Medical ninjutsu: Uses the Mystical Palm Technique to awaken Mikoto, but remains a limited healer 13 49.
- Observation: Deduces Kojiro’s concealed lightning training from unusually fast Explosive Tag detonations 31.
- Physical weakness: Before acquiring Lightning Release Armor, his eyes can follow Kojiro’s movements more effectively than his body can respond 31 32.
- Political negotiation: Secures approval for partial Uchiha relocation while preserving the clan’s formal ties to Konoha 40.
Equipment / Weapons / Items
- Kunai and ninja tool pouch — Uses kunai in close combat and carries mission documents in his pouch 28 31 38.
- Konoha forehead protector — Worn openly during his rogue-ninja investigation 29.
- Uchiha historical records — Borrows books from Ling’s collection and later reads them to broaden his knowledge 23 50.
- Uchiha Stone Tablet — Removes it from Naka Shrine and stores it on his spatial island to prevent other clan members from following Black Zetsu’s altered teachings 46 47.
- Relocation supplies — Purchases food and household necessities in multiple cities and stores them in Takamagahara 28 29.
Relationships
- Shisui Uchiha — Childhood friend and closest ally. Voluntarily lets Qiu Shan copy Kotoamatsukami and risks death for their relocation strategy; Qiu Shan arranges his revival and prevents Danzō from obtaining his eyes 2 4 17 28 43.
- Uchiha Fugaku — Clan leader whom Qiu Shan secretly subjugates. Fugaku supplies copied ocular techniques, saves him with Izanagi, cooperates with relocation, and appoints him Deputy Clan Leader 10 11 12 25 50.
- Uchiha Mikoto — Initially attacks him to protect her family. Qiu Shan then places her under Kotoamatsukami; their subsequent secret intimate relationship develops within that altered loyalty. She later expresses a wish to have his child and retains responsibilities toward her sons 12 13 15 27 45.
- Uchiha Ling — Elder and political supporter. Backs Qiu Shan’s leadership potential after seeing his Mangekyō, lends him clan records, and helps organize relocation 9 23 48.
- Itachi Uchiha — Former sparring partner and a prodigy whose future Qiu Shan wants to change. Qiu Shan conceals Shisui’s revival plan from him, provokes his anger during the vigil, then sends him to Whirlpool Island with Shisui 1 41 42 44.
- Sasuke Uchiha — Formal disciple. Receives a finely made tachi at his initiation; Qiu Shan postpones training until he is older and hopes to guide him without the massacre’s trauma 47.
- Hiruzen Sarutobi — Distrusted village leader and eventual Anbu superior. Approves partial relocation but pressures Qiu Shan into accepting an Anbu captaincy 4 40 41.
- Danzō Shimura — Political enemy. Qiu Shan exploits his attack on Shisui as grounds for relocation, destroys his men with Susanoo, and attempts to kill him; Danzō survives through Izanagi 34 39 43.
- Naruto Uzumaki — Recipient of discreet assistance. Qiu Shan gives him twenty coupons for large bowls of ramen while maintaining a cold façade to avoid official scrutiny 18 19.
- Ayame and Teuchi — Familiar faces at Ichiraku Ramen. Teuchi gives him coupons as a regular customer; Ayame secretly adds extra toppings to his meals 18 49.
Story Role / Major Arcs
Acquiring Power and Securing Clan Influence
- Warns Shisui of his death and the Uchiha massacre using the fabricated ocular ability “Rift of Time.” His information comes from knowledge of the original story, not genuine precognition 2 3.
- Copies Kotoamatsukami and plans coordinated intervention against hostility within both Konoha and the clan 4 5.
- Gains Ling’s backing through his Mangekyō awakening rather than mind control 8 9.
- Secretly takes control of Fugaku, copies his abilities, survives Mikoto’s attack through Fugaku’s intervention, and then controls Mikoto to prevent exposure 10 11 12 13.
Preparing an Independent Refuge
- Initially proposes quiet relocation to a protected settlement while the clan avoids provoking Konoha 14.
- Takamagahara makes distant relocation practical. He selects the former Land of Whirlpools as the clan’s future home 21 22.
- Shows Ling edited visions of the massacre, Shisui’s death, and Konoha’s destruction. He conceals Itachi’s role and omits the later resurrection of Konoha’s dead 23.
- Secures Fugaku’s agreement, purchases supplies under mission cover, and investigates the route to Whirlpool Island 25 27 28 33.
- Copies Lightning Release Armor from Kojiro and captures him. Later reports the mission as unsuccessful to conceal its true outcome 32 48.
Shisui’s Death and the Relocation Agreement
- Plans to use Shisui’s real death followed by delayed Izanagi revival to expose Danzō’s actions and obtain political concessions 17 28.
- Allows Shisui’s capture by disguised Root operatives to proceed, then leads the Uchiha response 34.
- Unleashes Susanoo against Danzō’s forces. After Danzō escapes, stops pursuing him to avoid escalating the confrontation with Hiruzen 39 43.
- Negotiates partial relocation: the Uchiha retain village affiliation, cease police duties, keep children in Konoha’s academy, and do not accept other villages’ missions 40.
- Accepts an Anbu captaincy under pressure as part of the resulting arrangement 40 43.
Revival, Mentorship, and Mass Transfer
- Waits through Shisui’s public funeral until the sealed Izanagi revives him. Itachi’s grief meanwhile awakens his own Mangekyō 41 42 43.
- Sends Shisui and Itachi to Whirlpool Island with supplies to begin preparing the refuge 44.
- Removes the altered Stone Tablet and becomes Sasuke’s teacher 46 47.
- Leaves most administration to Fugaku and Ling while training, studying, and assisting through Shadow Clones 48 49 50.
- Accepts appointment as Deputy Clan Leader and transfers the first group of more than a hundred elite Uchiha into Takamagahara for relocation. Fugaku leads that group while Qiu Shan assumes responsibility for those staying in Konoha 50.
