Kushina flailed furiously, but Xiangling held her firmly in place, leaving her unable to move.
Kōrei Uzumaki
Kushina
In truth, despite being little Naruto's inadequate mother, Kushina was only a woman in her early twenties, both physically and mentally. That was why her reaction was so intense.
Besides, Kushina already felt she owed Naruto. How could she not want to help him? She simply could not get past that hurdle yet, which was why she reacted so fiercely.
Otherwise, how could Kōrei Uzumaki possibly have held back a firebrand like Kushina?
After all, Kushina belonged to the Uzumaki Clan and had once been the Nine-Tails' Jinchūriki. She could control both her own chakra and nine-tails chakra with consummate ease.
Although Kushina no longer had the Nine-Tails serving as a nuclear power source within her, she had been a Jinchūriki for so many years that a considerable amount of nine-tails chakra remained in her body, effectively becoming part of her.
With that nine-tails chakra alone, Kushina could enter a berserk state and push her strength to Kage Level, quite possibly ranking among the stronger fighters at that level.
So, if Kushina had truly wanted to struggle free, Kōrei Uzumaki's current strength would not have been enough to stop her.
Shin Uchiha turned to watch Kushina and Xiangling tussling, then said leisurely:
"Xiangling, stop holding Kushina back. She isn't a child anymore. If she refuses, we won't force her. You should know that I've already prepared a way out.
"Once that invader arrives, if we really can't resist, I'll take you and Karin away from this world. All I wanted was to do my part for this world, anyway. Even if I can't save it, and Konoha and the Hokage perish as a result, my conscience will be clear."
