He paused, his tone softening. "But make sure you get some rest too, Priestess." As he spoke, he brushed his fingers around Kinvara's eyes.

Kinvara froze slightly at his touch, then lowered her eyes and murmured an assent. She said nothing more, bowed, and hurried straight out of the study.

On the third evening after Viserys and Kinvara discussed the prophecy, candlelight filled the Council Chamber in Dragonwing Castle.

Viserys sat at the head of the long table, a huge map of Westeros spread out before him. Duke William, Earl Jon, and Earl Alliser, the three senior officials currently on the Valyrian Peninsula, sat on one side, while Ashara, Rhaenys, and Daenerys sat on the other.

Viserys got straight to the point, placing a finger on the map where the Wall stood. "I've decided to make a journey to the Wall."

"Your Majesty?" Duke William's brow furrowed. "Westeros is at war right now. Wouldn't going to the Wall at a time like this be rather dangerous?"

"The fact that they're fighting one another makes this the best time for me to go," Viserys said calmly. "Their attention is focused on each other. No one will expect me to appear at the Wall. Besides, I'll be going with King Ghidorah. Even if they discover me, they won't be able to do anything about it."

Duke William continued, "Your Majesty, what is the purpose of this journey?"
