Tyrion Lannister, who had joined Daenerys in the original story, had then acted like a useless adviser who accomplished nothing. Apart from his glib tongue and eventual betrayal, he had absolutely nothing to show for himself.

And now he actually dared to play this pathetic stalling game in front of him. Did he really think he was another of the brainless fools he had dealt with before?

Viserys thought this as he lightly tapped his fingers against the table, producing a steady series of knocks. His grim expression seemed to freeze the very air inside the tent.

The excitement on Tyrion's face had yet to fade completely when he keenly sensed the change in the atmosphere. Looking at Viserys, his heart tightened. This is bad.

"A week? Tyrion, do you think I'm easy to fool, or do you think that story you made up is particularly convincing?" Viserys slowly raised his eyes and fixed them on him. The emotion in those violet eyes sent a chill through Tyrion.

"Or do you think I'm the sort of idiot who would give his enemies plenty of time to prepare a counterattack?"

Tyrion's heart clenched, but he kept up a calm appearance and tried to explain. "Your Grace, taking King's Landing without bloodshed requires meticulous arrangements. The mood of the people, the movements of the guards, control of key locations, and most importantly, Cersei's attention-all of these take time. A week is already the shortest possible timeframe."

"Enough." Viserys cut him off, rose to his feet, and looked down at him. "Everything you just said about betraying your family and helping me take King's Landing was nonsense. All you want is to stall until your father Tywin's army comes to your aid, or hope that useless Renly can extricate himself from the Stormlands.
