Then he went to find Jeyne.

Jeyne was sitting by the window. When she saw Robb enter, she hurriedly rose with delight. "Robb, you're back."

Robb walked over and took her hand. He hesitated, but finally said, "Jeyne, I've decided to go to King's Landing."

"King's Landing?" Jeyne's voice trembled. "But that place..."

"Is safe," Robb finished for her. "Viserys has taken King's Landing, and Sansa and Arya are there too. I'm going to bring them home and discuss a truce while I'm there."

"Then... what about me?" Jeyne looked up, her brown eyes full of worry.

Robb fell silent for a moment. He knew that if he went to King's Landing, the northern lords might still make Jeyne a target.

But he truly worried about Jeyne. After all, she was already carrying his child and was in no condition to travel long distances with him. That was also the main reason he had insisted on staying with her.

Robb also knew that House Frey had already left. At worst, those lords would say some nasty things; they would never lay hands on Jeyne. Staying here would still be safer for her than going to King's Landing.

"Jeyne, you must stay here." Robb gazed lovingly into her eyes. "Mother has agreed to our marriage. Once this is over, I'll marry you and take you home to Winterfell."

At Robb's words, Jeyne shook her head at once. Tears spilled down her cheeks as she threw herself into his arms. "I'm not afraid, Robb. Wherever you go, I'll go."

Robb held her a little tighter. "Jeyne, listen to me. You're in no condition to travel right now. Wait for me to come back."

Jeyne wanted to say more, but she too thought of the child in her belly and could only remain
