"Move." One of the Unsullied behind her shoved her. His rough fingers touched her back, making her flinch instinctively.

Cersei stumbled and fell to her knees, striking them against the ground hard enough to make her gasp in pain. The skirt of her prison dress tore open from knee to thigh, exposing a strip of dazzlingly pale skin.

Those who had come merely to enjoy the spectacle whistled at the sight, but more began throwing stones at her. A sharp pebble grazed her thigh, leaving a bloody scratch. She sucked in a breath at the pain, but still did not let out a single moan.

She knew that any sign of weakness now would invite even more frenzied humiliation. Her pride as a Lannister was like invisible armor, sustaining her as she walked on through those filthy stares.

The crowd grew louder, its clamor laced with vile taunts and curses. Some of the bolder onlookers even reached out to tug at her prison dress, trying to leave her in an even sorrier state.

Cersei swept her gaze over the twisted faces around her, burning them into her memory. If she survived this, she would one day make everyone who mocked her pay a terrible price.
