By the time Catelyn came out, Robb was already waiting for her in the corridor. He had changed into black clothes and wore no armor, and the bandage on his left arm was fresh. He was still looking out the window.
"Robb." Catelyn walked over.
Robb turned to look at his mother. She looked much better than before, though traces of exhaustion remained.
"Mother, did you see the dragons outside?" he asked.
Catelyn nodded. "I did. There were three."
"More than that," Robb said. "I counted just now. There were at least six. Some were above the clouds, so I couldn't see them clearly."
Catelyn fell silent for a moment, then said to him, "Robb, we've known for a long time that Viserys has dragons. I hope you won't let this affect you."
"Knowing and seeing are two different things, Mother," Robb said, a flicker of complicated emotion passing through his gray eyes.
When they went downstairs, the guards were already waiting in the hall. All twenty had changed into clean clothes and had their wounds freshly bandaged. At the sight of Robb and Catelyn, they immediately rose and straightened their backs.
"Let's go." Without another word, Robb led the way outside.
Varys was waiting outside the tower. When he saw them emerge, he bowed slightly. "Please follow me, Lord Robb, Lady Catelyn."
Along the way, Robb saw many Unsullied on patrol. Their armor gleamed coldly in the sunlight, and the spikes on their helmets shone dazzlingly bright. These troops were far more elite than any army he had seen before.
Varys led them all the way to the doors of the hall in the King's Tower before stopping.
"His Grace, Viserys, is waiting for you inside. It would be inappropriate for me to join you." With that, he pushed
