"Sur... surrender?" Mace squeezed out the words in a daze, then hurriedly said, "Yes, surrender. I surrender. I choose to bend the knee to His Grace Viserys."

He dropped to one knee, bracing both hands against the ground, and laid his longsword on the ground before him.

Randyll watched him, a flicker of contempt passing through his gray eyes where no one could see it. "Take Lord Mace away and lock him up for now. Make certain he is properly accommodated."

Two soldiers from Horn Hill stepped forward and hauled Mace Tyrell up from the ground. His legs were still as limp as noodles, and they practically dragged him away.

Just as the men of the Reach opened the north gate, chaos engulfed the western walls of Storm's End as well.
