Oberyn pulled out his spear, and Renly slipped to the ground, blood pouring from his right shoulder. He raised his head and looked at Oberyn, whose lips held a smile. There was no fear in his blue eyes, only a strange calm.

"Red Viper, kill me," Renly said with a self-mocking smile. "I have no intention of clinging to life anyway."

Oberyn watched him in silence for a moment before speaking. "At least you have some backbone. You haven't disgraced your blood as the last Baratheon."
