"Your Grace, how do you intend to respond to old Frey next?" Varys bowed as he asked respectfully.

"There's no need to respond. Let them stew a little longer," Viserys said evenly.

Varys nodded in acknowledgment, but still hesitated before asking, "Then, about Roslin..."

"Have Lyman bring her here." Viserys considered it, then said, "Arrange for her to stay in the Red Keep, in the Maidenvault beside the King's Tower. I seem to remember it's still empty."

He paused, then continued, "Don't make a great show of it, but don't hide it either. Make sure the lords of the Riverlands know that a Frey daughter has moved into the Red Keep."

Understanding flickered in Varys's eyes, but he still asked cautiously, "Your Grace, what standard of accommodation should we provide for Lady Roslin?"

Viserys tapped his fingertips lightly against the desk and looked out the window. "The same as Sansa and Arya," he said slowly. "Choose two trustworthy maids. She won't need more than that. There's no need to assign guards. Let her move freely around the Red Keep."

At that, a smile curved his lips. "Let her see the Red Keep as it is now with her own eyes, and witness the power of House Targaryen. That will serve as a warning to House Frey as well."

Varys immediately bowed. "Your Grace has considered everything. I'll arrange for Lyman Frey to bring Lady Roslin here at once, and quietly spread the news to the Riverlands so everyone who ought to know hears of it."

Viserys nodded. "Remember to strike the right balance. Don't let House Frey think I'm too eager, or the other lords think I'm being too lenient with them."

Varys hastily bowed. "Your Grace is wise."
