Varys was already waiting for them in the courtyard. He wore his usual gray robes, a smile on his face as he spoke to Lyman.
Roslin stood quietly behind Lyman, her head lowered and her hands twisted together, looking rather nervous. Every so often, she raised her head, stole a quick glance at the towers of the Red Keep around her, then lowered it again.
Viserys watched for a while before turning away from the window and settling back into his chair.
About a quarter of an hour later, Varys knocked on the door.
"Your Grace, Lady Roslin has arrived. Lyman Frey also requests an audience," Varys said after entering.
"Have him go back for now. There will be other opportunities," Viserys said without looking up. "Just have him leave Roslin here."
He had no desire to let that fat pig spoil his good mood today.
"Yes, Your Grace." Having received his orders, Varys withdrew.
A little while later, another knock came at the door.
"Come in," Viserys said.
The door opened, and this time a young woman entered.
Roslin stood in the doorway, looking at Viserys with uncertainty. Her small face was even redder now than it had been in the courtyard, and her lips trembled slightly, as though she were struggling to find the words.
"Y-Your Grace, Viserys," she said in a small, timid voice. "Roslin Frey of House Frey offers you her greetings."
"You look rather young. Have you come of age?" Viserys asked.
"I have, Your Grace." Roslin's voice was still very quiet, but he could hear her.
"What is it? You look afraid of me. Am I really that frightening?" Viserys asked.
The question made Roslin freeze for a moment. She looked up at Viserys's flawless face, unsure how to answer.
