Daenerys first stood at the corner of the corridor, her gaze passing through the gallery archway to settle on Viserys. Then she hurried straight toward him, reached out, and took his arm, her grip tightening slightly.

"Yes, we ran into more than we anticipated, so we were delayed by two days on the way." Viserys gently patted Daenerys on the back to reassure her, then asked softly, "How has King's Landing been?"
"Fairly peaceful."
Daenerys nestled contentedly against Viserys's chest, sounding reluctant to let him go as she said, "But there really is a pile of things waiting for you to handle. Letters brought by ravens from all over Westeros and even Essos have nearly covered an entire desk. "I understand." Feeling the softness of her body against him, Viserys said evenly, "I'll get everyone settled first and look through them later."
