"Shirou!"
As the three of them approached the medical research facility, a serpent-like shadow suddenly shot out through the rainy night like a bolt of lightning, darting onto Emiya's back.
"Are you okay?!"
Emiya saw Wa Lord poking her head out beside his shoulder, her eyes blinking. A trace of exhaustion still lingered on her little face, clearly from the long hours she had spent coordinating the entire operation. The wrangling with the major families must have taken considerable energy as well.
"I'm fine, I'm fine! Other than using up a bit too much energy, it's nothing..."
"That's good." Wa Lord let out a relieved breath. "I thought you'd run into a trap set by the Chen Family. We even got Dragon Severing Platform ready..."
Emiya turned his head and was surprised to see Zhou Yuxuan standing quietly to one side, carrying the enormous Dragon Severing Platform on his back.
"Huh? But as I recall, activating Dragon Severing Platform requires you to pay a huge price to unseal it...?"
"Hmph!" Wa Lord puffed out her cheeks indignantly. "It can communicate with you, Shirou, so it can be negotiated with too... Then I told it that if it insisted on all those procedures and we missed the chance to rescue you, there wouldn't be anyone left who could repair its blade in the future! So..."
"So you threatened it..." Emiya had never imagined that Dragon Severing Platform's principles could be so flexible.
"It's an old family relic to begin with, an ancient senior even older than the family elders. Normally, the whole family has to properly worship it. What's wrong with having it contribute some strength at a critical moment?"
Just thinking about how she had argued with that old relic for two days and two nights to activate Dragon Severing
